The various strands of domestic and European law which affect both employment rights and responsibilities have made employment law a complex and dynamic area. The Broadway House Chambers Employment and Immigration Law Team has expanded considerably and now offers counsel with a range of experience in all relevant areas unfair and wrongful dismissal and all forms of direct and indirect discrimination. There is also considerable experience in the Team in related areas such as police disciplinary work and advisory work for local councils. Members of the Team regularly appear in the local courts and tribunals. Additionally they have appeared in several high profile cases of national significance in the higher courts. These include guideline cases dealing with direct discrimination, compensation for injury to feelings and issues arising under the European Convention on Human Rights. A number of counsel within Chambers also act in Immigration matters. Members regularly represent clients in both the IT and IAT in all aspects of immigration work and have dealt with cases involving ECHR matters. Counsel are happy to draft skeleton submissions and provide advice and assistance in the compilation of appellant’s bundles. Chambers can also offer a number of members with language skills. |
