Year of call

Environmental issues have developed significantly over the last 20 years resulting in a proliferation of statutory law and regulations from Parliament and from the European Union. The Environmental Law Team has been formed to address this expanding area of the law. The Team undertakes all aspects of work in this field including prosecution and defence work in the criminal courts, statutory appeals, personal injury claims, and judicial review. Areas of work include land and water pollution, statutory nuisance, waste management law and the application of European law.

Members of the Team have been involved in a number of notable cases and have gained significant experience in both prosecuting on behalf of government agencies and in defending a wide range of clients from large corporate entities to individuals.

Members of the Team are registered with the Environment Agency as approved prosecutors and with the Environmental Law Foundation as referral members.

A list of members of Chambers who act in environmental matters appears opposite.
