    Ian Howard prosecutes and defends in all areas across the criminal spectrum, including fraud as well as violence, dishonesty, public order offences and drugs. He is a Grade 4 Crown Prosecutor and has experience of handling cases involving the severely mentally disturbed, otherwise vulnerable defendants and child witnesses.

    Ian has developed an expertise in serious and complex frauds and was involved in the guideline case on preparatory hearings and the nature and extent of the orders that can be made pursuant to such hearings in complex frauds decided by the Court of Appeal.

    Aside from this specialist area, Ian Howard’s practice is a broad one. He is regularly instructed in murders and was the junior in the “crossbow cannibal” case, representing Stephen Shaun Griffiths.
