Alex Modgill practices in general civil law, with particular emphasis on employment law, family law (ancillary relief and private law Children Act proceedings), personal injury and commercial law.

Alex is recommended in the Legal 500 for his particular expertise in employment law in which he represents both claimants and respondents within both the private and public sectors.  His experience and practice covers the complete spectrum of employment law issues including unfair dismissal, all areas of discrimination, TUPE, restrictive covenants, working time and equal pay.  He is regularly instructed at both Employment Tribunal and appeal court levels.

Alex Modgill has considerable experience in all aspects of personal injury litigation including claims arising from workplace accidents and employers' liability, public and occupier's liability claims, road traffic accidents, credit hire cases and claims under the Animals Act legislation.  Alex is frequently instructed to draft pleadings and provide written opinions and he is happy to consider accepting inctructions on a conditiional fee basis.

Alex Modgill is very experienced in family law cases with particular specialism in ancillary relief, TOLATA applications, and private law Children Act matters.  He is regularly instructed in ancillary relief cases involving complex business structures and family trusts, where the depth of his preparation and attention to detail is particularly important.  Alex is equally experienced in TOLATA cases at all stages of the proceedings.

Alex has considerable experience in civil and commercial litigation.  He is instructed on a regular basis to represent both claimants and respondents in all areas of civil law including landlord and tenant cases. He is also frequently instructed to advise in conference, provide written opinions and draft pleadings in all areas of civil law, including chancery, commercial and property claims.
