Nick has been in practice for over 15 years and since his transfer to the bar in 2004 he has built upon the bank of experience he gained as a solicitor to become one of the North Eastern Circuit's leading family law barristers. His potential was recognised early by the national legal directories and since transferring he has been recommended every year for his ability to provide clear, sound and pragmatic advice and his impressive, trademark style of advocacy.
His practice centres predominantly on ancillary relief, where Nick regularly accepts instructions on behalf of business owners, professionals and their spouses in cases of high and modest value. In common with the rest of Broadway House's ancillary relief practitioners he also acts for unmarried, formerly cohabiting couples in land disputes. Nick also has a particular interest in public law children work and is often called upon to act on behalf of parents and other family members. He has considerable experience of complex, lengthy, very-high-cost cases encompassing such issues as serious non-accidental injuries, sexual abuse, fabricated memories, mental health and addictions. Nick also practises in private law, particularly in cases with international dimensions, such as child abduction or permanent removal from the jurisdiction.
