Gordon has been in practice for 30 years and is known for his ability to deal with the most difficult cases. He is often instructed in ancillary relief applications involving high-value asset pools, complex foreign elements or financial dishonesty, and his Children Act practice embraces public and private law matters involving allegations of the gravest magnitude, wardship and adoption. Gordon is Broadway House Chambers' most senior children law practitioner and has appeared in a number of notable appeals on Children Act issues. He also acts in Trusts of Land and Appointment of Trustees Act 1996 disputes arising out of cohabiting relationships.
Gordon Shelton was appointed Recorder in 2000 and sits exclusively in family law cases. He is therefore able to rely upon his judicial experience when advising clients on discrete, sensitive issues. Gordon also represents individuals in professional negligence claims arising out of matrimonial or TOLATA matters.
