Alex Modgill Appointed District Judge by His Majesty The King

Broadway House Chambers is proud to announce that Alex Modgill has been appointed as a District Judge.

The official announcement has been made today by the Courts & Tribunals Judiciary Department after the Royal Warrant had been signed by His Majesty the King.

The announcement reads:

“The King has appointed Alexander Modgill to be a District Judge on the advice of the Lord Chancellor, the Right Honourable David Lammy MP and the Lady Chief Justice of England and Wales, the Right Honourable The Baroness Carr of Walton-on-the-Hill”

District Judge Appointment: Modgill - Courts and Tribunals Judiciary

Alex will be known as District Judge Modgill. He was called to the Bar (Lincoln’s Inn) in 2002. He was appointed as a Deputy District Judge in 2021.

The Lady Chief Justice has deployed him to the North Eastern Circuit, based at Sheffield Combined Court Centre, with effect from 3 August 2026.
