Syam Soni Secures Acquittal in Drugs Trial

Syam represented a defendant accused of possession with intent to supply two types of Class A drugs at Leeds Crown Court.

The prosecution alleged that Syam’s client was engaged in drug dealing, as he was the driver of a vehicle in which the drugs and associated paraphernalia (weighing scales) were located. Two disposable mobile phones were also found in the same vehicle, upon which there was evidence of drug supply.

Syam rigorously challenged the manner in which the police had investigated the case, exposing several failings.

The defendant was acquitted within 10 minutes.

Syam was instructed, and assisted, by Omar Saleem and Hasnain Khan of Lexis Solicitors.
