Syam Soni and Rebecca Young Secure Acquittals in Multi-Million Pound Drugs Conspiracy

This operation involved a lengthy and complex investigation by the National Crime Agency (NCA) in which over 100KG of heroin were imported from Pakistan. The street value of the drugs was said to be £8.5 million.

Syam’s client was said to have conspired with others to receive the drugs, concealed in items of clothing, as shipments to her address.

Rebecca’s client was said to have been involved in the preparation and subsequent distribution of drugs for onward supply within the UK.

The case involved complex areas of law, including bad character evidence and careful consideration of the nature of conspiracies. This allowed for the prosecution case to be robustly challenged.

Both Syam and Rebecca’s clients were acquitted by the jury after a 4-week trial at Bradford Crown Court.

Syam was instructed and assisted by Jabran Hussain of Kingsman Solicitors.

Rebecca was instructed and assisted by Harry Khan of Mohammed Hussain Solicitors.
