Syam Soni Secures Acquittal in Drugs Trial at Sheffield Crown Court
Syam represented a man accused of possession with intent to supply wholesale quantities of Class A drugs.
The allegations came to light upon the police discovering a vehicle - a so-called ’stash car’ - containing multi-kilo quantities of drugs in the boot. Syam’s client was linked to the alleged offending after forensic analysis of the bag in which the drugs were kept was found to have his fingerprint on it.
The prosecution adduced evidence of the defendant's 'bad character' for like offending. They also relied upon expert evidence to assert that the defendant was an experienced wholesaler of Class A drugs.
Notwithstanding the character and expert evidence, the jury unanimously acquitted Syam’s client.
Syam was instructed and assisted by Javid Arshad of Bradford Law Solicitors
